A glass of wine a day, we’re told, keeps the doctor away, but researchers are now saying that drinking up to two will help keep the pounds off as well.
Hence a new inspirational take on WineFlirt’s motto of “drink, laugh, love”: drink wine, look great, feel great, be great. (Okay, doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue – maybe it will rhyme when translated into Latin).
The Wine Diet has none of the astringent boundaries of the Grapefruit Diet; rather, it’s a simple reminder that wine is good for you. Not only does wine – red especially – keep your figure fine, it is also chock full of antioxidants (resveratrol, y’all – look it up). A glass or two a day is said to decrease the risk of heart disease and cancer, for goodness sake.
We’re not proposing that a daily cin-cin should replace your date with the elliptical, but a glass of Pinot with dinner won’t go to your bottom lines – especially when complimented with a workout routine.
While wine will probably not be hawked in late-night infomercials as a miracle fix for weight-loss (please…no!), in moderation it is undeniably a delicious component of weight maintenance and a healthy lifestyle.
Let’s take a gander at some reds we like for warmer weather:
